Steve's News from Annapolis May was another typically busy month for me. With the end of the legislative Session, I had some great opportunities to see our communities' youth. I had the exciting opportunity to go from high school auditorium to auditorium to present my legislative scholarships to some outstanding students. I hustled to Senior Awards ceremonies at Pikesville, Towson, Dulaney and Loch Raven High Schools to recognize and applaud the academic, civic and athletic achievements of many truly super seniors. 2009-2010 ScholarshipsOnce again this year, the Delegate Lafferty Scholarship Program received over 75 requests for scholarship assistance. There were many excellent applicants. I am proud that my Scholarship Committee was able to award 40 students scholarship help so they can continue their education. My heartiest congratulations goes out to all of the awardees. I also want to thank the Committee members. These four wonderful volunteers - Cindi King, Lisa Norrington, Eric Rockel and Don Schwartz - did a terrific job in reviewing and evaluating the applications before determining who should be the recipients.
